JIAS Integration Funding at Work
in Calgary

On May 2, 46
new immigrants to Calgary climbed onto a Tim Horton’s Bus to
discover the beauty of the Rocky Mountains. Most had never been to
this area before and were excited to learn more about the geography
and history of the Province they now call home. Switching back and
forth between English, Russian and Hebrew, they quickly formed bonds
and friendships that will last for many years. The trip was a great
success thanks to Tim Horton’s who provided the bus, Parks Canada
and JIAS Canada who helped subsidize the entrance fees, and of
course the wonderful Jewish Family Service Staff who hosted the
trip.
