Partnership At Work in Calgary

There was plenty of
food and even more food for thought at the third annual Forum and
Latke Ball in Calgary in November. Jewish Family Service,
together with Hillel and the Sheldon M. Chumir Foundation and an
integration grant from JIAS brought together 70 young adults, about
a third of them recent immigrants, to explore "ethical issues in
the Israeli-Palestinian conflict".
Anna Steinberg, JFS
resettlement worker and JIAS service provider in Calgary welcomed
the guests expressing her hope that this kind of programming will
help to promote strong young leadership in the Calgary Jewish
community.
The photograph shows all the young adults who are in University and
who have been part of
the JIAS resettlement process in the last eight years. Two of
the group are JIAS Scholarship winners who are now involved on the Board
of Hillel. We are very proud of their accomplishments.
JIAS integration grants help fund innovative
programs across the country.
