On March 23 the first Brith Milah
ceremony was held at JIAS Montreal facilities.
More than 30
friends joined Ernesto and Fabiana Suguer for the Brith Milah of
their first son, Brian Ilan. The Suguers arrived from Argentina in
2003 and are very well adapted to their new country and fully
integrated into our community; Ernesto is an engineer and Fabiana an
accountant.
“We are very
thankful to Rabbi Michel
Spiro and JIAS for all their help,” said the proud father. “When you
are away from your family it is important to know there are people
who care about you and who are ready to give the support you might
need.”
"One of our goals is to provide a
‘home away from home’ for the newcomer” said Shellie Ettinger, JIAS
Montreal Executive Director. “We were honoured that the Suguer's
chose to celebrate Brian's Brith Milah at JIAS. We extend a Mazal
Tov to the new family and look forward to celebrating many more
events together.”
JIAS Montreal provides support
and guidance to newly arrived Jewish immigrants and refugees.
Through a wide array of services and programs, JIAS Montreal plays a
pivotal role in ensuring that all newcomers live in dignity and with
respect as they establish their new lives in Montreal.
