Jewish Immigrant Aid Services of Canada (JIAS) is the oldest not for profit settlement organization in Canada with Members and Service Providers across the country. It is the national voice of the Jewish community in matters related to immigration, resettlement and integration.

JIAS Canada advocates for fair and just policies affecting refugees and immigrants and supports the rights of those who wish to come to Canada through legal means. JIAS Canada seeks to ensure that the needs of immigrants are considered in a systematic way and are provided across the country in response to the unique conditions in each partner community.

JIAS Canada recognizes and supports the right of immigrants to have access to essential resources to ensure their successful resettlement and integration into communities across the country.

JIAS Canada promotes a welcoming and inclusive community where newcomers can reach their potential and become leaders.

The mandate of JIAS Canada is to provide leadership in advocacy with government, the Jewish community and immigrant-serving NGO’s; manage processes in supporting the Service Provider organizations (SPOs); and provide a direct service role regarding pre-migration counselling and complex case management. JIAS Canada seeks to strengthen the Canadian Jewish community through support of immigration at the local level. JIAS Canada’s mandate is encapsulated in five broad areas of focus:

Leadership with service providers

Management and coordination

Service standards and best practices

Client-focused services

Community development
