Canadian Communities - Halifax, Nova Scotia and Atlantic Provinces There are a number of very small Jewish communities throughout the Atlantic Provinces (Eastern Canada). The largest of these can be found in Halifax. Halifax is a city of approximately 350,000 people with a Jewish population of around 1,500. A modern port city steeped in history, Halifax has a captivating international flair. Visitors are impressed by the array of museums, galleries, historic sites, and colourful gardens.
