Located in central Alberta and less than a four hour drive to the Canadian Rockies, Edmonton has a population of over 800,000 and is home to museums, an extensive library system, theatres, concert halls, an excellent school system and the highly-respected University of Alberta. The capital of Alberta, Edmonton boasts the largest area of city parkland, a "green belt" available for strolling or cycling, bordering the North Saskatchewan River. A city of festivals ranging from Strolling Poets to Fringe Theatre to Jazz Festivals and Heritage Festivals, Edmonton provides entertainment for its residents throughout the year.

The Jewish community of approximately 6,000 members offers extensive programs within its community centre, drop-in seniors centre and five synagogues. As well, Talmud Torah and the Menorah Academy provide education for our Jewish children.
